2. Click the HowTo tab in the sidebar navigation.

3. Click Add HowTo.

Include and Exclude Rules for HowTo Schema

1. Configure which posts or post types should automatically output HowTo Schema:

   (Note: Exclude rules take precedence over Include rules if a post matches both conditions.)

   • Include Singular Posts By Type:
     • Select public post types (e.g., How Tos, Articles) from the autocomplete dropdown.
     • Applies HowTo Schema automatically to all published entries under the selected post types.
   • Include Specific Posts:
     • Select individual tutorial pages or blog posts from the autocomplete field.

Configure HowTo Schema Fields

   • Available source mapping options:

     • Title: Dynamically uses the WordPress post title.
     • Fixed Value: Enter a static title across matched posts.

Add HowTo Step Instructions to Post Meta Box

1. Edit any post or tutorial page configured for HowTo Schema (e.g., a How Tos post entry).

2. Scroll below the main post content editor to locate the HowTo Schema meta box.

3. Fill in the designated meta fields:

   • Estimated Amount / Cost
   • Total Time duration
   • Tools (repeater list)
   • Supplies (repeater list)
   • Instructional Steps (repeater list with step titles, images, and sub-steps)

4. Once all instructional steps are entered, save your post.

Test HowTo Schema Validity

1. Google provides official testing tools to validate structured data: Google Rich Results Test and Schema Markup Validator.

2. You can inspect your live tutorial URL or test raw HTML code snippets.

3. Open a published page containing HowTo Schema in your web browser.

4. If logged into WordPress, click Check Schema Markup in the top admin bar.

5. This automatically opens Google’s validation tool preloaded with your page URL for immediate testing.
